So the science and research of nutrition
at moderate altitudes that elite athletes train at, is actually
underdeveloped. Most of our knowledge is more from extreme altitudes. There are
indications however, at moderate altitudes. That increases in carbohydrate
oxidation occur. There’s increased risks for dehydration. And finally, there’s an
increased demand for iron as well at moderate altitudes.
